The Drug and Alcohol Program Coordinator is responsible for the daily oversight, administration, implementation, and operation of JSX's Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Drug Abatement Program. The position ensures compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) testing standards for pre-employment, random testing, post-accident testing, reasonable suspicion testing, return-to-duty testing and follow up testing. The position coordinates vendor oversight and maintains testing capabilities across the system. The position also acts as the Designated Employer Representative (DER), which requires the position to be on-call to provide guidance to operations personnel as circumstances arise.

Fine Print

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in a DOT regulated industry. (essential requirement)
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in drug and alcohol testing programs. (essential requirement)
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in managing suppliers of drug and alcohol testing services such as labs, MRO's, or collectors. (essential requirement)
  • Knowledge of Drug and Alcohol Testing Programs - 49 CFR Part 40 & 14 CFR Part 120 (essential requirement)
  • Maintaining Drug and Alcohol records for JSX (essential requirement)
  • Support for Internal and External Customers by providing guidance, coaching, and recommendations regarding Drug and Alcohol policies, processes, and procedures (essential requirement)
  • Review applicant files to ensure compliance with DOT rules and regulations (essential requirement)
  • Monitor the return of regulatory paperwork from previous employers to ensure compliance to federal mandates (essential requirement)
  • Process document requests by pulling files, completing preservation notices, and sending documents to Department Heads as needed (essential requirement)
  • Create Drug and Alcohol correspondence, filing and auditing errors, and supports delivering of available services (essential requirement)
  • Review job descriptions content to identify safety-sensitive positions and compliance with all applicable regulations (essential requirement)
  • Partner with IT to develop reports by pulling, manipulating, and converting data in order to compile Team performance metrics (essential requirement)
  • Coordinate department meetings by organizing schedules, creating agendas, booking rooms, and documenting notes as needed (essential requirement)
  • Facilitate informational presentations by maintaining subject matter expertise on Drug and Alcohol policies, processes, and procedures in order to educate internal Customers (essential requirement)
  • Create and maintain comprehensive records in order to ensure proper documentation for future use with a high regard for confidentiality (essential requirement)
  • Hours may vary and may include evening, weekend, and holiday work. Some travel may also be necessary.(essential requirement)
  • Manage the random drug and alcohol testing logs and communication to ensure required metrics are met in a timely manner (essential requirement)
  • Review and update D&A documentation, including but not limited to, D&A Manual (JSX), Donor Checklist, Acknowledgment Forms, and Training Documentation (essential requirement)
  • Prepare and deliver D&A training as part of New Hire Orientation, assist the Flight Operations Administration Coordinators in updating the training records for HSA and JSX for Safety-Sensitive Crewmembers (essential requirement)
  • Responsible for subject matter expertise regarding Drug and Alcohol policies, regulations and procedures. As Designated Employer Representative (DER), responsible, in coordination with the respective Director of Operations, to maintain compliance with the DOT D&A regulations (essential requirement)
  • Responsible for the delivery and recordkeeping of Supervisor's Reasonable Suspicion training and the associated recordkeeping (essential requirement)
  • Responsible for the coordination of services with any third party providers used to meet drug testing requirements.(essential requirement)
  • Responsible for participating as required in safety/security investigations and within the Corporate Emergency Response Plan (essential requirement)

Pay & Perks

Compensation range is $42,000 - $50,000/annually. This was established after performing market research and is aligned with our approach to compensation. Most qualified Candidates will receive an offer near the starting point of our compensation range.
