About You:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing supporting schedules, financial statement preparation and related transactional activities while ensuring complete and accurate relevant information is provided to the company's decision makers in a timely manner. The individual must be self-motivated, deadline driven, comfortable with multi-tasking and thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment and enjoy being a team player.
Outcomes & Responsibilities:
- The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the Accounting Manager with coordination of the financial activities of the Accounting Department. The Senior Accountant will play a key role by maintaining corporate accounting ledgers, executing month-end close tasks, documenting controls and preparation/presentation of balance sheet analyses during our month-end review.
- Prepare consolidated financial statements and regulatory reporting documents
- Prepare/review journal entries and account reconciliations in a timely manner
- Assist the accounting manager in preparing documents and interpreting complicated financial information for management and executives
- Support external audit PBC process and support external auditors in their annual audits
- Provide upper management with the necessary data to make business decisions by performing cost/benefit/variance analysis, as required
- Make practical recommendations for process improvements while ensuring that recommendations reflect an understanding of the business and are clearly presented to and agreed to by management
- Provide leadership and guidance to junior employees and accounting assistant(s)
- Support/lead special projects and department initiatives
- Coordinate/Collaborate with other departments: Finance, IT, Commercial, etc.
- Must be a self-starter with minimum supervision and makes good independent judgments
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license highly preferred but not required
- 4+ years of experience as an accountant
- 2+ years of public accounting experience highly preferred
- Knowledge and experience with Fixed Asset accounting & maintenance expense review
- Knowledge of ASC 842 Lease accounting
- Understanding of risks and internal control environment and the ability to evaluate and determine the adequacy, effectiveness, and efficiency of controls
- Demonstrated knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to anticipate issues and to craft appropriate solutions
- Excellent communication skills
Pay & Perks:
Compensation range is $80,000 - $90,000 annually. This was established after performing market research and is aligned with our approach to compensation. Most qualified Candidates will receive an offer near the starting point of our compensation range.
